An Offer that Honors our Teachers’ Hard Work and Dedication.

The district has been negotiating in good faith with the two unions that represent the majority of our employees, the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) and SEIU Local 73 (SEIU) to present offers  that are fair, honor teachers and staff, and recognize their contribution to the historic academic progress we have made in the past decade.

CPS Accepts Teachers’ Contract Terms Proposed by Independent Fact Finder

An independent, third-party arbitrator — who was jointly appointed by CPS and CTU — today released a contract proposal that closely aligns to the terms proposed by CPS and would provide teachers a significant raise over the next five years.

Safe Haven Sites Open to Students During Summer Break

All CPS students are welcome at Safe Haven sites throughout Summer Break, Monday – Friday (July 8- August 16) between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and meals will be provided at all locations.

Graduating twin sisters and Gates Scholars Nannette and Naomi Beckley are headed to the Ivy League. The Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy High School seniors have received prestigious full-tuition scholarships: Nannette will attend Princeton University and Naomi will attend Yale University.
