A Message from the Principal

A Message from the Principal

West Park STEAM Academy emphasizes science, technology, engineering, fine arts, and mathematics. Emphasizing and focusing on 21st century skills needed for each child to reach beyond and be empowered to be active participants in our global society. We are developing the four C's (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity) in our learning community. Critical thinkers solve problems. Creativity teaches students to think outside the box. Collaboration shows students how to work together to achieve a common goal. Communication lets students learn how to best convey their ideas and evaluate how others’ are interpreting them. We are creating an environment where teachers, students, and community members communicate, engage, create, imagine, collaborate, and build relationships together with purpose. Our students and our teachers are becoming innovators and shaping the future of what quality education looks like at Chicago Public Schools.
