A Message from the Principal

Dear Westcott Community, With immense joy and enthusiasm, I introduce myself as the principal of Westcott Elementary School. My name is Monique Dockery, and I am both honored and excited to continue my role and the tradition of excellence that defines our school. With a career spanning over three decades in education, I bring a wealth of experience to Westcott. I am committed to creating a world-class, high-quality experience for stakeholders daily along with the staff. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to coach and mentor numerous current leaders within Chicago Public Schools and across Illinois. This experience has reinforced my belief in the importance of a balanced approach to education that respects and integrates the perspectives of all stakeholders, including students, staff, and the broader community. My philosophy of education is grounded in creating a safe, nurturing environment where every student, staff member, and community member feels valued and supported. I am committed to fostering the whole child, ensuring that academic growth is harmoniously paired with social-emotional development. Our dedicated faculty and staff continuously work diligently throughout the school year to prepare for our scholars. Our curriculum is high quality and aligned with the latest educational standards to move our school forward. As we embark on this exciting journey together, I look forward to working closely with each of you to continue building a school community that thrives on collaboration, respect, and a shared vision for the future. We will strive to provide our students with the best possible education and a positive, enriching school experience.
