A Message from the Principal

Carl Von Linne School is a neighborhood school with a proud tradition of serving the Avondale community for nearly 130 years. Through partnerships with esteemed organizations such as the Joffrey Ballet, The Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, Forward Momentum Chicago, and Communities in Schools, Linne provides a comprehensive and integrated Fine Arts program that enriches students' education. Students benefit from a full theater program beginning in third grade, as well as opportunities to participate in a rock band, concert band, guitar ensemble, and martial arts program. Linne also offers an inquiry-based science curriculum supported by two dedicated science labs and state-of-the-art technology, including a Mac Lab, a 1:1 student-to-laptop ratio, iPads, and interactive panels in every classroom. Our optional Spanish Immersion Dual Language Program enables students to become biliterate, fostering skills that will serve them for a lifetime. Additionally, Linne offers High School Algebra for eligible 7th and 8th graders and High School Geometry for eligible 8th graders, providing advanced academic opportunities to prepare students for future success. Facilities such as a full culinary arts kitchen, ceramics room and kiln, dance studio, and music room further support our mission of educating the whole child and ensuring that every student is given the tools to explore their passions and achieve their fullest potential. At Linne, we are committed to providing a well-rounded, innovative, and dynamic learning experience for all our students.
