A Message from the Principal

A Message from the Principal

As a Community of Learners, we pride ourselves in serving the whole child. To ensure that students are thriving, we not only focus on the academic, but also the social emotional learning of all students so once they leave elementary school they are well prepared to take on their next steps into high school and ultimately, find success in their post-secondary choices. We teach our students the importance of caring, Smyser CARES For Self, For Others, and For Our School. We are here to make a difference in all of our students' lives by encouraging, educating, and believing in them. Mission Smyser Cares about meeting the needs of ALL learners. We prioritize the whole child, which includes student health and social-emotional wellbeing. Smyser engages and empowers students through a profound foundation of literacy, mathematics, and the sciences, while also integrating technology and fostering an appreciation for the arts. We are a safe and equitable environment where all students of diverse backgrounds feel welcome and are able to reach their highest potential to become productive citizens beyond Smyser Elementary School. Vision We, the community of Smyser Elementary School, believe that all children are entitled to an outstanding education, rich in opportunities and rewarding experiences. We are committed to providing a joyful, child-centered environment, a love of learning, pride in the Smyser School Community, and rigorous preparation for the demands of the 21st Century. Through this commitment, Smyser students will become successful individuals in a multicultural, complex, and changing world.
