A Message from the Principal

A Message from the Principal

Holden is a diverse PK-8 school serving the Bridgeport neighborhood in Chicago. Our rigorous curriculum and well-rounded programs prepare students for success in college, career, and productive citizenship. Holden is recognized for its competitive math team, established art and music programs, and high rates of student acceptance to selective enrollment high schools.  Our teachers focus on students’ unique learning needs and create inclusive environments that demonstrate respect for diversity and build connections among students, staff, families, and the community. As a Fine Arts Magnet school, we integrate art, music, and creative expression across the curriculum.  Beyond core academics, we also offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including Math Team, high school credit courses (Algebra/ Geometry), intervention and after-school programs such as sports, STEM, rock band, drama, podcasting, and art club. Through high expectations and a focus on students’ future, we strive to instill productive work and character habits embodied in our school motto "Hard work, success, and nothing less!"
