Located in the vibrant West Pullman neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, Thomas J. Higgins Community Academy is a Fine Arts Magnet Academy dedicated to inspiring creativity, curiosity, and a passion for learning. We believe the world is filled with endless possibilities just waiting to be explored, and we strive to equip our students with the tools and mindset to do so. Serving students in grades PK-8, Higgins is committed to our mission: To educate, engage, and enrich. Every child, every day.

At Higgins, our committed educators and staff collaborate to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can thrive. Through rigorous academics, culturally responsive teaching, and a focus on individualized learning, we foster curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.

We are proud to offer diverse enrichment opportunities, including unique programs like Braids and Brilliance, the United Voice Choir, and a thriving performing arts partnership with PTDYA. These initiatives celebrate student talents, cultivate self-expression, and provide a platform for students to shine. As a Fine Arts Magnet Academy, we integrate the arts into our curriculum to inspire innovation and a love of learning.

Additionally, Higgins promotes strong family and community partnerships, emphasizing the shared responsibility of fostering student success. With a focus on building confident, compassionate leaders, Higgins Community Academy is a cornerstone of the West Pullman community.
