A Message from the Principal

CICS Longwood is part of the Chicago International Charter School (CICS) network and is one of three direct operated CICS Campuses.

CICS, founded in 1997, is one of Illinois’ largest charter networks with two decades of experience managing a diverse portfolio of innovative public charter schools. Our vibrant network of diverse Chicago charter schools enables students to thrive every day, puts them on a path to success in college and life, and empowers entrepreneurial educators to pursue excellence through innovation.  

CICS Longwood provides students with the necessary tools and skills needed to develop superior levels of achievement. We strive for academic, social and physical excellence by providing a quality and challenging curriculum. We promote positive moral and social values, foster an atmosphere of self-discipline in a safe learning environment, and maximize individual productivity to meet the needs of a changing global society. CICS Longwood students maximize their potential for successfully actualizing their goals with confidence and intrinsic motivation, thereby enabling each student to become a lifelong learner and strong functional contributor to their local community as well as their global community.
