A Message from the Principal

The mission of Brighton Park Elementary is to grow leaders who are engaged, empowered, and educated. It is our goal for all of our students to leave our school with the foundational tools to serve their community. Students who are ENGAGED positively and actively impact their community. Students who are EMPOWERED have the intra- and inter-personal skills to participate in their community. Students who are EDUCATED possess well-rounded knowledge and skills to contribute to their community. We focus on developing leadership skills and helping students find their voice through implementation through the Leader In Me program. Leader in Me is an evidence-based PK-12 model, developed in partnership with educators and designed to designed to build leadership in students, create a high-trust culture, and improve academic achievement We focus on developing the whole child by: Teaching leadership to every student. Creating a culture of student empowerment. Aligning systems to drive results in academics. Brighton Park is a Sustainable Community School. Through this model we offer enriching learning opportunities for parents both in and out of the school day; education and development opportunities for families; and wrap-around supports such as social-emotional wellness. We use a responsive and restorative approach to supporting both students and families, with multiple opportunities for both students and their families to shape the schools events, programs, and future. Our school community operates under four core values: Rigorous Academics: We believe that engaging students in authentic and challenging academics will develop their critical thinking, problem solving skills, and ensure that they are college and career ready. Supportive Environment: We believe that a child’s holistic wellness needs must be met so that they can successfully engage in their academic curriculum and graduate with the tools to become productive and successful members of our community. Culturally Responsive and Equitable: We believe that all students are capable of greatness and deserve a high quality education that is inclusive and responsive to their culture, background, and identity. Student and Community Centered: We believe that the holistic needs of each student and family should be at the center of everything we do.
