All Chicago students can attend the general education program at their neighborhood school (based on their address). Students can also apply to any open enrollment program in the city. Details	The Service Leadership Academies are unique four-year high schools that prepare students for college and subsequent careers. Marine Leadership is the only one of these programs that is open to students in grades 7-8, and students who enter Marine's program in elementary school are able to continue there for high school without reapplying. Although students wear uniforms and operate in a structured environment, these Service Leadership Academies are not intended to prepare students for the military. Rather, students take part in unprecedented leadership opportunities and cocurricular activities, including college trips and citywide competitions, in a nurturing, safe, and healthy environment in which they can realize their full potential.
