Healing Centered Culture, Supports and Social-Emotional Interventions

Data that reflects how well a school supports the overall health and well-being of its students and serves the whole child.

The district focuses on creating safe, positive environments where students feel connected, valued, and supported. Schools use research-backed social-emotional learning (SEL) interventions and other resources to help meet students’ social, emotional, and physical health needs. This includes having strong systems for identifying and addressing students’ needs, fostering a healthy school climate, and building partnerships with health providers. The district also offers training and resources to help staff respond to the health needs of students and to create supportive, healing-centered classrooms, giving every student the best chance to thrive academically and personally.

What Does This Measure

This indicator measures effective systems for applying Tier 1 health and wellness programming including daily activities aimed at promoting a culture of health (daily physical activity, health education, physical education, social and emotional education). Through daily Tier 1 programming schools could identify students in need of health and social emotional interventions or other support and implement school wide plans around the health and wellness needs of students. It also reflects the quality of conditions that facilitate social emotional wellness and the culture of student connectedness.
