Beard School is an Early Childhood Specialty School that stands out with its two interrelated programs on one vibrant campus. Our largest program is our preschool program. We are located on the Northwest side of Chicago, offering a comprehensive range of full-day and half-day options for all eligible 3 and 4-year-old students. Here, we provide tailored learning experiences through our general education, blended, English Language Learner (ELL), and intensive support special education programs. Our preschool programs are designed to prepare students for kindergarten and have a Gold Circle of Quality rating from ExceleRate, reflecting our commitment to excellence in educational and social emotional standards. Our second largest program is our Specialty School, Kindergarten through 3rd grade program. This program is exclusively for students with disabilities. These classrooms prioritize individualized educational support, social emotional, and academic learning. Our school has an ADA-compliant environment and is staffed by experts trained in a multitude of disabilities, including autism, medical disorders, and mobility issues. With a maximum of 10 students per classroom, we maintain a low student-to-adult ratio to ensure personalized attention and instruction. With a full team of related service providers, including Speech, Occupational, Physical Therapies, Social Work, Counseling, Case Management, Nursing, and Psychology services, students are offered comprehensive support to effectively address the diverse needs of their IEP's within a classroom setting. At Beard School, we are committed to fostering a culture of high expectations for all students and strong level of parental partnership.
