Teachers Lead Chicago (TLC), a pillar of the district’s Lead with CPS leadership development strategy, is a groundbreaking initiative that creates structured career pathways for educators to grow their leadership skills without leaving the classroom.
TLC, a cross-office initiative between CPS’ Talent Office and the Office of Teaching and Learning, aims to enhance teacher retention, strengthen instructional quality, and ultimately improve student outcomes.
The TLC team works with teacher leader qualification, selection, implementation, guidance, and marketing, while the Office of Teaching and Learning provides professional development to build teacher leader capacity.
