We just concluded the inaugural Lead with CPS NextGen Mentorship Program Banquet. This program is one of three parts of Lead with CPS's strategy - trainings, cohorts, and mentorship. This event allowed us to offer our heartfelt appreciation to the District leaders who served as mentors, and to congratulate our dedicated mentees for completing the program. As part of the celebration, we’d like to share part of a poem written by one of our mentors, Evangelina (Eva) Covarrubias that beautifully reflects the journey we’ve all been a part of:

"No roadmap, no compass, no voice of reason,
Just figuring it out, through struggle and season.

I stumbled and learned, I failed and I grew,
But oh, how I wish Lead with CPS was there too.
I wished for a program like this to be near,
To help me grow, to calm my fear.
Because now, I stand here, with passion to share,
A program like this is a treasure so rare."
