4.3.3 Site Soils and Underground Design Considerations

Where the proposed school renovation project results in disturbance of any exterior hard surface/soil/subgrade material, including, but not limited to landscaping, parking lots, sidewalks or other surface areas, refer to 4.2 Environmental for New Construction - Site Soils and Underground Design Considerations. Special consideration should be given to Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) identified at the site in the project area that will require proper environmental assessment to determine whether it shall be removed as part of the renovation scope of work. The MEC will also provide a limited environmental screening of the site to determine soil disposal requirements for materials departing the site in advance of the design work completion. The soil disposal information will be provided by the MEC to place in the future bid documents.
