Compressed Air Systems: These systems are typically installed in Shop areas for powering of specific tools. These systems shall include a Duplex Air Compressor, Receiver, Aftercooler, Moisture Separator and Dryer. Many of these components may be available as a packaged system. An audible and visual high pressure alarm shall be included.
Piping to be Type L Copper or Black Steel. Copper shall include brazed connections; Steel piping shall include threaded connections. Each tap from the main to a point of use is to have an isolation valve. Valve shall include 3 piece, full-port ball valves. If a valve is required for modulation of the system, needle valves are preferred.
Connections from the tap to the tool or other equipment shall made with a flexible hose, no longer than 20 feet.
