4.9.13 Law and Public Safety

Planning Rationale

In the Law and Public Safety pathway, students are introduced to careers in law and criminal justice.

Students are provided with a college preparatory education and in-depth coursework on criminal justice, law enforcement, family law, and forensic science. This pathway is a great fit for students who want to serve their communities and get ready-life experience in courtrooms, law enforcement, and crime scene investigation.

Pathways

Pre-Law

The Pre-Law program is designed to introduce and prepare students for careers in law and public safety, such as police officers, lawyers, court reporters, firefighters, and detectives. Pre-Law is a four-year honors program that equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for success in life and education after high school graduation.

Layout

The room shall create a simulated courtroom environment including, but not limited to: a judge's bench and witness stand, tables for the plaintiff and defendant and respective counsel, a separate group of seats/chairs for the jury box, and student tables or benches for the gallery/spectator seating.
