Planning Rationale
The Education and Training programs prepare students for careers relating to family and human needs.
Students in the Education and Training program will work with children in a classroom setting and have the opportunity to explore a career in teaching, social work, and early childhood education. Students can learn current educational theories and put their knowledge into practice by working in elementary schools and local day-care facilities.
Pathways
Teaching
The Teaching program is designed to prepare students to enroll in college to study education. As part of their studies, students will be introduced to the latest educational theories and take coursework aimed at future educators, including psychology, human cognitive development, and social policy. They will work with various learning communities and learn how to engage students through hands-on activities.
Layout
This space will include a typical classroom layout along with learning center stations. Learning center stations consisting of select standard Pre-K furniture are located along one of the lab walls, while student work tables are spread throughout the room.
