Whole School Safety Plan Voting Results

As part of CPS’ commitment to promoting community engagement and transparency, the district is providing a list of schools with School Resource Officers (SROs) who have created Whole School Safety Plans, which includes community-led decisions about whether they want to maintain SROs in their schools during the 2021-22 school year.

Below are the vote tallies for meetings held on the Whole School Safety Plan. Schools without quorum due to membership were asked to poll community participants. Schools without quorum due to attendance were asked to poll meeting attendees and LSC members. From these polls, a recommendation is made to the Network Chief.

Note: schools in bold changed their SRO decision in their 2023 vote

  • LSC has full quorum: Vote on WSS Plan
  • LSC does not have a quorum due to membership: LSC should poll community participants, in addition to polling members of the LSC who are present
  • LSC does not have a quorum due to meeting attendance: LSC should re-convene when a quorum can be achieved. If still unable to achieve quorum, LSC should poll attending LSC members and conduct official vote in next subsequent future meeting when quorum is achieved.
  • Non-Functioning LSC (defined as having multiple LSC members from a technical standpoint, but do not have any active LSC members other than the principal): School should convene and conduct public participation with community members and make a recommendation based on their input
  • School does not have an LSC: School should convene and conduct public participation with community members and make a recommendation based on their input
