English Learner Progress to Proficiency

This measures how well students learning English (EL) are progressing toward English proficiency each year. The goal is for ELs to reach English language proficiency within five years of students receiving EL services. Students will be evaluated for English Learner Progress to Proficiency starting in first grade. The district uses the ACCESS for ELLs assessment to measure this progress and shares school-level data, showing how students are doing compared to network and district averages.

Why This Is Measured

This information helps identify where EL students that met their growth target and where more support might be needed. While this measure highlights student progress, it is not meant to judge school quality but rather to ensure that EL students are getting the help they need to succeed.
