Important Reminder about Veterans Day

Dear CPS Families and Staff, 

As a reminder, classes will be in session and CPS offices will be open on Veterans Day on Monday, November 11. 

We want to offer our deepest gratitude to those who have bravely served our country and those who are currently serving right now. Veterans Day is a great opportunity for all of us to thank our veterans for their service and reflect on how their dedication and sacrifice have positively impacted our country and world. Students in classrooms across Chicago will be able to learn more about the contributions of our veterans and celebrate those who have served and are currently serving our country. 

As a reminder, in the years when there is a general election like this year, schools are closed for Election Day, and are open for Veterans Day. In the years when there is no general election, CPS schools are closed on Veterans Day.

We hope you have a safe and enjoyable weekend and look forward to seeing staff and students back in school on Monday, November 11.

Como recordatorio, habrá clases y las oficinas de las CPS estarán abiertas el Día de los Veteranos el lunes, 11 de noviembre.

Queremos ofrecer nuestro más profundo agradecimiento a quienes han servido valientemente a nuestro país y a quienes actualmente están sirviendo en este momento. El Día de los Veteranos es una gran oportunidad para que todos agradezcamos a nuestros veteranos por su servicio y reflexionemos sobre cómo su dedicación y sacrificio han impactado positivamente a nuestro país y el mundo. Los estudiantes en las aulas de Chicago podrán aprender más sobre las contribuciones de nuestros veteranos y celebrar a aquellos que han servido y sirven actualmente a nuestro país.

Como recordatorio, en los años en que hay elecciones generales como este año, las escuelas están cerradas el Día de las Elecciones y están abiertas el Día de los Veteranos. En los años que no hay elecciones generales, las escuelas de las CPS están cerradas el Día de los Veteranos.

Esperamos que tengan un fin de semana seguro y agradable y esperamos ver al personal y el estudiantado de regreso a la escuela el lunes, 11 de noviembre.
