The next parent/community election and advisory staff polls for traditional Local School Councils and advisory parent and staff polls for appointed Local School Councils and Boards of Governors (military academy high schools) will be conducted on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 for elementary schools and Thursday, April 14, 2016 for high schools from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

After the elections for traditional Local School Councils and the appointment process for appointed Local School Councils and Boards of Governors, the new LSC term will begin July 1, 2016.
LSC Terms
Parent, community and school staff members of traditional Local School Councils and parent, community, school staff and advocate members of appointed Local School Councils and Boards of Governors serve a two-year term beginning July 1 in even-numbered years and ending June 30 two years later. High School student members serve a one-year term beginning every July 1 and ending June 30 of the following year.

All candidates for either a traditional or appointed Local School Council must provide two forms of identification and must file the following forms:
- Form 1-16 Candidate Nomination Form
- Form 2-16 Candidate Criminal Conviction Disclosure Form
- Form 3-16 Candidate Telephone Number Disclosure Form
All candidates may also file a Form 4-16 Candidate Statement. Additionally, school staff candidates must file a Form 5-16 School Staff Candidate Information Form and all High School Student Candidates must file a Form 6-16 Student Candidate Information Form.
