Official Grades for GoCPS High School Programs

Some GoCPS high school programs, including all selective enrollment programs, require an applicant's official 7th grades. Check the school profile page for details.

Official Grades or Marks

The marks used are from the student’s official transcript. In order to maintain accuracy and integrity, letter grades cannot be weighted or analyzed outside of the information that is listed on that official transcript, including honors or extenuating circumstances. Pluses and minuses are not taken into consideration. Marks for the following core subject areas are used:

  • Reading
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Science

Submitting Grades

Grades must be submitted by the application deadline in order to be considered in the initial round of selections.

  • Current CPS Students: Final grades from 7th grade will be used and automatically uploaded directly from Parent Portal (Aspen). If grades are missing, your current school must input grades at the school, which will automatically be entered into the application.
  • Non-CPS Students: Final 7th grade can be entered by uploading students’ official transcript directly to the GoCPS application. Official grades can also be submitted by your current school.

Grade Change Request

Current CPS Students Only: If there is an error in an applicant’s grades, please contact your current school to update. Official grade changes must be received no later than the GoCPS application deadline. Changes received after this date will not be considered during the initial selections process.
