Update on SNAP Benefits

November 7, 2025

We know that many in our CPS community are being impacted by delayed and reduced Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for the month of November while the federal government remains shut down.

For the most current updates, please visit this page from the Illinois Department of Human Services.

Reminders about SNAP benefits

  • Leftover SNAP benefits from earlier months can still be used
  • CPS will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students during attendance days
  • Keep up, renew, and apply for benefits even during shutdown to avoid any further benefit delays. Use this page or call the Healthy CPS Hotline at 773-553-KIDS (5437) for additional assistance.
