Education and Training

The Education and Training programs prepare students for careers relating to family and human needs.

Students in the Education and Training program will work with children in a classroom setting and have the opportunity to explore a career in teaching, social work, and early childhood education. Students learn current educational theories and put their knowledge into practice by working in elementary schools and local day-care facilities.

Education and Training Certifications Available:

  • Early Childhood Educator Level 1
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • CPR / AED for Healthcare Providers
  • First Aid
  • Infant CPR / AED
  • Infant First Aid
  • OSHA 10 Hour General Industry

Pathways

Teaching

The Teaching program is designed to prepare students to enroll in college to study education. As part of their studies, students will be introduced to the latest educational theories and take coursework aimed at future educators, including psychology, human cognitive development, and social policy. They will work with various learning communities and learn how to engage students through hands-on activities.
