Get the Most Out of MealViewer

CPS school menus are now available on MealViewer, an online menu service that keeps communities up-to-date on their school’s daily breakfast and lunch menus. Here's how you can get the most out of MealViewer:

  • Create a profile to save student information and provide feedback on school meals. With a profile, you can add allergens to get notified when they are on school menus. Creating a profile is not required to view menus for your school. For assistance setting up your profile, view the instructional video.
  • Download the app to access MealViewer on the go. Find the MealViewer app in the Apple and Google stores. To learn more about navigating the app, view the introductory video in English or Spanish.
  • Get support and find answers to your questions by contacting the Office of Nutrition Support Services at Food@cps.edu.

Dietary Accommodations

All menus are pork-free, and vegetarian options are available at breakfast and lunch, daily. To request a plant-based menu please email food@cps.edu.  Families can also filter the top allergens on school menus using MealViewer’s “allergens” feature.

For additional support accommodating other dietary restrictions email food@cps.edu. Reasonable menu accommodations will be made for students with documented food allergies or intolerances. Complete and return the Physician Statement for Food Substitution [ ENGLISH | SPANISH ] to your school nurse or food@cps.edu.

Reporting Issues with School Food

If there is an issue with a single meal, the student should notify the school’s dining manager, who should offer another option.

If there are consistent issues with the food at your school, please take the following steps:

  • Continue to report them to your dining manager.
  • Report the issue to your school principal.
  • Begin to keep a daily log.

Report the issues to food@cps.edu.
