CPS Student NATO Summit Video Contest

Your chance to tell foreign delegates what you love about Chicago

March 26, 2012

CPS Students:  Win an iPod and start your career as a video director by participating in a video contest to help welcome leaders from more than 50 countries to Chicago for the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) Diplomatic Summit this May.

CPS has partnered with the Chicago NATO Host Committee Opens in a new window icon to develop a creative video contest for CPS elementary and high school students. Students throughout the District will compete to produce the most innovative videos welcoming NATO delegates to Chicago.

Where should the foreign delegates go and eat in Chicago?  What do you love about the city? In a short video under three minutes in length, explain to delegates what makes Chicago so unique.  All winners will receive iPods, courtesy of the Host Committee. In addition, one new 4G iPad will be awarded to a winner drawn at random and a $400 office supplies gift certificate will be presented and shared by teachers of winning students. Winners also will receive recognition by CPS and NATO leadership at an event in May.

Winning videos will be featured on the Host Committee website, CPS.edu and distributed through social media.

Details of the contest

Two winning videos will be selected by an independent judging panel; one elementary-level (K-8) video and one high school-level video. Students may work individually or in teams of up to four. Videos must be no longer than three minutes.
