As part of our continued commitment to equity, our budget is focused on supporting students who need us most. Hundreds of South and West Side schools will receive new academic programs, technology, preschool programs, modernized school facilities, science labs, and play spaces.
Equity means students who need more should get more. In fact, 93% of our capital budget dollars will go to schools whose student population is majority low-income. This is what equity looks like—investments for all corners of our city.
