The Portfolio Office is committed to ensuring that every student in every community has access to high quality educational options, through quality control of the system of schools and ensuring fair and equitable access to families.
Portfolio's four key functions include authorization of new schools (charter, contract, traditional district); applying a uniform accountability framework that holds all schools to a high standard; efficiently and equitably enrolling all students; and continually optimizing the district's footprint of quality schools.
Portfolio is a combination of previously individual CPS offices:
- New Schools & Programs (formerly Office of New Schools)
- Access & Enrollment (formerly a portion of the Office of Academic Enhancement)
- Portfolio Planning & Strategy (includes former Demographics department)
