Safe Haven sites offer secure spaces where students can engage in recreational and academic activities over winter break. Safe Haven programs are available across the city and meals are provided at all locations. Hours of operation may vary by site.

All CPS students and teachers will be on winter break from December 23 through January 3. All CPS offices will be closed from December 25 through January 1.

Since 2001, CPS’ four-year high school graduation rate has more than doubled, reaching a new record high in 2024. This progress made over such a short period of time has transformed the lives of countless graduates, and is a testament to what can be accomplished when students are centered in everything.
