Yes! Tutors will be paid between $20-22/hour.

Tutoring will happen during the school day and throughout the entirety of the school year.

On your interest form, you will indicate geographic preferences for your placement. We will do our best to place you in your preferred geographic region, but CPS will assign you to a school where we have a need.

We will work with you to develop a schedule that provides continuity for students. We expect you will have the same students at a regular time throughout the week.

We will prioritize Tutor Corps applicants who can work 20+ hours. We will also prioritize candidates who can commit to tutoring for the full year. You are required to commit to tutoring for one semester (August - December).

Our vendor will provide training before you begin tutoring, as well as ongoing, onsite support and training throughout the school year at no cost to you.

CPS Tutor Corps members will work with 1-4 students at a time.

CPS is continuing to follow public health and safety guidelines to determine what is safe for students and tutors. We do expect there will be at least some component of the tutoring program to occur in person.

CPS will notify you of your acceptance status later this summer. If you are accepted into the program, you will go through selection, training, and onboarding processes and begin tutoring at your placement school in the Fall of 2024.

We will prioritize those with experience but we are eager to train any applicants who are highly motivated and committed.

Applicants should have their high school degree or equivalent. For those Corps tutoring in math, there will be a diagnostic math assessment you are required to complete.
