Healthy CPS

Healthy CPS for Students

Healthy CPS is an initiative of the Office of Student Health and Wellness that provides schools with guidance and resources to ensure that all health and wellness policies are being met in a school and that the wellbeing of all students is prioritized and supported. State and district policies and requirements are covered by Healthy CPS and streamlined in four (4) badges; Health Leadership, Health Instruction, Healthy Environments, and Health Services.

Health Instruction

The Health Instruction Badge measures whether schools provide adequate instruction for nutrition education, physical education, health education, and sexual health education

Healthy Environments

The Healthy Environments Badge measures whether schools foster environments that support the health and wellness of students.

Health Services

The Health Services Badge measures whether schools are providing student access to healthcare services that impact learning.

Healthy CPS efforts are led by a school's Wellness Champion and Wellness Team. The Wellness Team should include a student representative as student voice is a necessary component of school health and wellness. If you are interested in getting involved in your school's Wellness Team, reach out to your school's Wellness Champion or Administration.

Get Involved With Healthy CPS

There are many opportunities to engage with your school's health and wellness efforts. Whether you participate on a team or committee or familiarize yourself with Healthy CPS requirements, your voice and perspective are valuable and necessary to achieving Health CPS.

Healthy CPS Student Resources

Healthy CPS overviews health and wellness policies that require certain services and resources to be provided to students and their families. Understanding what health services and supports are available to you, your peers, and your family contributes to a culture of health and wellness at your school.

Adults in your school, including a school nurse, counselor, clerk, or social worker, can help connect you to healthcare.
