School Counseling Internship Program

The Office of School Counseling and Postsecondary Advising is excited to invite prepared school counseling interns to complete a practicum and/or an internship in Chicago Public Schools (CPS).

Our School Counseling Internship Program has been developed to assist CPS school counselors in partnering with an intern in order to positively impact student achievement while exposing future counseling professionals to evidence-based academic, social/emotional, and college and career programming within CPS.

For students planning to begin practicum/internship in the: The registration period is:
Summer (July-August) December 1 - April 1
Fall (September-December) December 1 - April 1
Spring (January-June) December 1 - April 1

In order to complete an internship with Chicago Public School, colleges and universities must have an established partnership. Please view the list of universities to see if your college or university is partnered with CPS. If the college or university is a CPS partner, prospective interns are encouraged to complete registration as early in the application window as possible. Once the registration is complete, CPS will review the submission. The application link is only available within the window indicated above.
