Chicago Board of Education seeking new student member

Each year, the Chicago Board of Education selects an Honorary Student Board Member to represent the CPS student body. This student attends the monthly Board meetings and is a member of the District’s Student Advisory Council. Additionally, the selected student will receive a $1,000 scholarship upon his or her graduation from high school and enrollment at a two or four-year college or university.

Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. on October 2, 2015. In order to be eligible, students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and have an attendance rate of 95 percent or higher. Applicants must also have held the position of Student Council Officer, Senior Class Officer, or Junior Class Officer, or have served as the student representative on their school’s Local School Council (LSC).
