Parents, guardians, students and community members interested in learning about new Chicago public school options are invited to attend the 4th annual New Schools EXPO, presented by the Chicago Public Schools and Parents for School Choice. The event takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, indoors at Soldier Field.
Several schools’ application deadlines are approaching quickly, and the EXPO is a great way to make sure that you get your applications in on time. During the EXPO attendees can meet the leaders of more than 85 elementary and high school
campuses and can research schools from across the city and begin the application process in one short visit.
Guests at the EXPO will also have the opportunity to attend workshops, be part of a Town Hall forum moderated by Fox Chicago’s Robin Robinson and enjoy a free screening of The Lottery, a film about New York City’s battle for high quality schools.
Admission to the EXPO is free and there will also be free indoor parking. If you plan on taking the CTA, a free trolley service between the Roosevelt CTA “L” station and the stadium is available. The event takes place in Soldier Field United Club Level 1, which is fully heated.
"There are many new, exciting, innovative public schools that offer choices for Chicago families and give them the chance for a high-quality education," said Kim Davis-Ambrose, a parent of a senior at one of the new high schools and a member of Parents for School Choice. "The EXPO offers community members the opportunity to learn about these schools and apply."
