The following types of preschool programs are offered:
- Child Parent Center (CPC)
- Community Partnership – Child Care Enhancement
- Head Start Child Development
- Preschool for All (formally State Pre-Kindergarten)
- Tuition-Based Preschool (TBP)
Information about the preschool programs
- Children usually attend a preschool program at their neighborhood school. Transportation (busing) is not provided.
- Half-day and full-day programs are offered; the majority of programs are half-day.
- Most programs are grant funded and have specific eligibility criteria determined by the funding agency, related to: income, at-risk factors, and residence in specific areas.
- Most programs give priority for enrollment to four-year-olds (age four on or before September 1 of the current school year).
- Tuition-Based Preschool (TBP) is not grant funded, but requires tuition payments for all children attending the program.
