Overview
Reading is the foundation of education. Without it, one cannot understand the basics of math, science, or history, or even expect to manage any aspect of advanced logic. Reading opens the doors to life. That’s why Real Men Read, a program that invites men to read to a classroom of 2nd, 5th or 7th graders each month, has such a huge impact on the community.
Goals
- Encourage and improve the literacy skills of our students
- Provide mentoring opportunities for men with CPS students
- Demonstrate the importance of student achievement and community partnerships
