CPS releases FY2011 proposed budget

Chicago Public Schools has released a preliminary budget, which is also posted on the District’s web site, www.cps.edu.


The proposed budget, which will be presented to the Chicago Board of Education later this month after a series of public hearings, is for $6.461 billion. By law, the District’s budget must be balanced.


Community hearings have been scheduled for:

Tuesday, August 17

Lane Tech High School

2501 W. Addison Street


Wednesday, August 18

Westinghouse High School 

3223 W Franklin Blvd


Thursday, August 19

Corliss High School

821 E. 103rd Street

For all three public forums, registration will open at 6:00 p.m. and the hearings will begin at 7:00 p.m.
