More than 100 innovative CPS teachers will receive awards of over $1,000 each from the Oppenheimer Family Foundation. Winning grants will support unique projects ranging from organic gardening, mural painting, biology, riding unicycles, stilt walking and trapeze.
The Oppenheimer Family Foundation has been committed to underwriting projects developed by Chicago Public Schools teachers for more than 30 years. This year hundreds of teachers will receive funding for their projects, which are focused on creative, non-traditional projects. These winning proposals were recognized in a gala presentation on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at Roberto Clemente High School, 1147 N. Western Ave.
