Tamer Lee Williams, a senior at Hyde Park Career Academy, is one of seven finalists for the “Cheerful Idol” contest.
Chicago Tribune columnists Mary Schmich and Eric Zorn are holding the contest as part of the 10th annual Songs of Good Cheer sing-along at Harris Theater on Friday Dec. 19, 2008.
The winner of the contest will go onstage and sing solo the opening of “Angels We Have Heard on High.”
