Enrolling in a Charter, Contract or Options School

Every charter and contract school has its own admissions process, student application, and application deadline. To apply to a charter or contract school, you should contact the school directly to learn about its admissions procedures. Click on the links below for a list of charter and contract elementary and high schools.

Students who will be in 9th grade during the 2018-2019 school year can utilize GoCPS – a new website that streamlines the high school application process and includes all charter and District-run schools.

Options Schools, including Alternative Learning Opportunities Programs, Safe Schools, and certain charter, contract and neighborhood schools, serve students who need a new pathway to high school graduation. To learn more about Options Schools and obtain enrollment information, visit the Options Schools web page.

Resolving Issues with an I & I School

Most schools under the Office of Innovation and Incubation (I & I) are independently operated, so the process for resolving an issue within these schools is unique. I & I recommends that parents or community members follow the procedures below to resolve concerns involving an I & I school:

Step 1: Notify School Leadership of the Issue
In any CPS school, parents, guardians, or community members should first attempt to address their concerns with the established leadership within the school. Teachers and administrative staff can help identify the appropriate school leader. You can find contact information for the school by utilizing the CPS school directory.

Step 2: Contact the Charter or Contract School's Board
Every charter and contract school has its own governing board. If the leaders within the school are unresponsive, parents, guardians, or community members should address their concerns with the school's board. Contact the school for a list of its board’s upcoming meetings.

Step 3: Contact the Office of Innovation and Incubation
If your questions or concerns are not adequately resolved by school leadership or the school governing board, please contact the Office of Innovation and Incubation at 773-553-1530.
