How to use this site

Users will be able to find documents and use interactive tools to help them better understand the proposed CPS budget for fiscal year 2015. The interactive features allow users to easily click through the budget, drilling into specific budget line details or staying at a high level overview of the District.

Users can view a number of areas of the budget including revenue and debt while also looking at every CPS school and department. Each interactive report generates graphs and charts which will make budget comparisons visual and easier to understand.

Q. Why do I sometimes get a login page when I try to access the Budget Interactive Reports?

A. Your Browser session for the Interactive Reports have probably timed out. This is an easy fix. All you have to do is close the previously opened browser window. Open a new browser window and click on the "Interactive Reports" on website to access the budget interactive reports.


Q. Is there any way to read the Budget Report offline?

A. Yes there is. You can download a PDF of the full Budget Report and have it available anytime you need it.


Q. There is a lot of great information here but where should I start?

A. You're right. There is a lot of information on the Budget Report. Try starting at the Reader's Guide. The Reader's Guide page will give you a general information on what each chapter of the Budget Report means.


Q. When does the fiscal year start and end?

A. The Chicago Board of Education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014 and ending June 30, 2015.


Q. Can I look at an individual schools budget?

A. Yes you can. With our new Interactive Budget Reports you can look at individual schools budget, programs as well as Central Office budget.


Q. Can I also look at the previous year's budget?

A. Yes you can. Go to our Financial Information page, It has all of our budget information from year 2009 to our current budget.
